Michelle Newnan lives in Australia.
Born in Sydney she discovered a love for photography when she started travelling Australia and internationally in the 1990’s with a Minolta camera before upgrading to a Nikon N90.
After the birth of her daughter in 2010, she focused her photography on capturing her family’s intimate moments.
In 2013 she left the corporate world after a redundancy just before her son was born.
She made the switch from transparency film to digital in 2015 when upgrading to a Nikon d610 at the same time as relocating the family from Sydney to Melbourne.
Her photography focuses on her life experiences. She loves those images of her family which capture the subject's personality.
Michelle is a finalist for the Olive Cotton Award 2023.
When Michelle does not have a camera in hand, she loves cooking.
